Current projects
- Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) at Old Parliament House, ACT. GGD will soon commence design and documentation of the New arrival precinct at MoAD which includes the redesign of the accessible entry, back of house facilities, reception and shop spaces.
- St Mary MacKillop College Performing Arts Centre in Isabella Plains, ACT. As a sub-consultant to Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) Quantity Surveyors, GGD is the Principal's representative for the delivery of the new Performing Arts Centre. This new facility will provide students with a purpose built space to support their studies in the areas of Drama, Music, Dance, lighting, set design and other related disciplines. The completed project is to be delivered in the last quarter of the 2024 calendar year.
- Brunei Darussalam High Commission Residence in Deakin, ACT. As a sub-consultant to Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) Quantity surveyors, GGD is providing design and project management services in the delivery of the Brunei Darussalam High commissioner's residence in Canberra. The project team currently consists of the High Commissioner, representatives of the Kingdom of Brunei Darussalam and the RLB team. The residence is located beside the High Commission and cultural, ambassadorial, and operational requirements. The residence will be delivered under a two-stage process and is anticipated to be completed in 2025.
- Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) at Old Parliament House, ACT. GGD has been engaged to project manage the design and delivery of the new signage and wayfinding project for the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD). This exciting project aligns with the new brand for MoAD which is situated within the historic Old Parliament House in the parliamentary triangle in Canberra. The design by the Frost Urbanite collective is in timeless black and white and incorporates elements of bronze detailing and a striking overscale illuminated feature sign prominently positioned at the front entry of the building to welcome visitors to the Museum. ScreenMakers Pty Ltd will be responsible for the supply and installation services for this project which will be completed early in 2024.
- Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR), Lindfield NSW. On behalf of DISR, GGD has developed Parliamentary Standing Committee medium works notification documentation for the relocation of the Gas Mixing Facility in Lindfield, Sydney. This work has included working with the relevant teams from the Department of Finance and Deregulation and other Federal Government bodies.
- Bondi Surf Lifesavers Museum - within Trip Advisor, Bondi Beach is rated within the top 4 must see destinations in Australia. Bondi Beach surf club is the oldest surf bather’s lifesaving organisation in the world and has a nationally significant collection of memorabilia and records. GGD has been engaged to oversee the establishment of the Bondi Surf Bathers Museum as its own entity and to design and deliver a state-of-the-art Museum of surf lifesaving. The Museum will provide a new indoor activity to engage, educate and provide an extraordinary interactive experience for visitors to Bondi. The exhibition is due to open in line with the refurbished building in 2027.
- Other current GGD projects are subject to non-disclosure agreements and involve working as part of broad multi-disciplinary teams, providing input into large scale business cases from a museum/cultural institution perspective.
- Additionally, Greer Gehrt the Director of GGD is currently contracted through Hays recruitment to Parks Australia to develop eight precinct plans for Kakadu National Park (KNP) and for the Cultural Centre precinct at Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. This work involves the procurement of suitably qualified consultants, to work as teams and facilitate consultations with Traditional owners to ensure that their ideas lead within the precinct planning designs. This work is arranged through the close collaboration of the Parks operations staff and the Northern Land Council.
- Currently, Greer is managing the fit out of the café and gallery spaces within the Bowali visitors centre in KNP in time for opening in the visitor’s season, and the engagement of multiple consultant teams to work on eight precinct plans across KNP. The precinct planning is a large body of work and will identify works to be done over several years into the future.
- In Uluru Greer is utilising her design skills to work as part of the Tourism working group with Traditional owners, a group of tourism experts from various sectors and Parks staff to document Anangu ideas for possible future implementation subject to successful funding bids.
- Residential / Cafes / Architectural - GGD continues to assist clients with renovations to homes, cafes and commercial offices through interior design and decorating in Canberra.
